William Sutherland started the first of the Sutherland trucking businesses in Manchester, England in 1923. In 1952 his son, William (Bill) Sutherland, continued the family business in Katanning after immigrating from England to Western Australia. His son Kenneth (Ken) joined him in the business the following year.

In 1982 and 83 Ken’s sons, Graham and Brian joined him in the business with Brian now a managing partner in what has developed into a large family trucking business operating under the trading name of Cropline Transport.

Ken continued to run the business for many years with a variety of trucks to suit the local agricultrural industry. This included the transport of wheat and other grains as well as fertiliser, machinery and wool. He was always prepared to look at ways to improve the business.
The company went on to add a number of trucks and trailers to its fleet over the years…
CROPLINE HAULAGE
Cropline Haulage is the amalgamation of two family owned transport companies from wheat belt Western Australia; Milross Grains from Bridgetown owned and run by Peter Bloxsome and Sutherland Transport of Katanning with third generation director – Brian Sutherland. With a combined knowledge of over 60 years within the industry, the two came together in early the 2,000s looking for a way to solve ongoing issues within the West Australian bulk transport industry.
The haulage company is a wheat belt focused bulk transport company, striving to improve safety and productivity within the agricultural sector to benefit its customers and contractors. As a result of their forward thinking and innovation, Cropline Haulage was formed.
