KOBEELYA HEAD GIRLS

Kobeelya Head Girls

Kobeelya Church of England Girls School opened in 1922, with Mrs Mary Eleanor Burbidge as Head Mistress, and closed in 1975. Mrs Burbidge, the wife of the Reverend William Burbidge, remained in the position until 1929. She was a highly motivated woman with high academic qualifications and teaching experience both in Australia and England. The following year, 1976, Kobeelya reopened under the direction of Penrhos and the Uniting Church, closing at the end of 1982.
