Audio Memories Audio Memories
There are many ways to record our history and people’s memories of their life and time in Katanning and surrounding districts. Mostly, it is the written word and photographs that are able to show us what life was like in our early days. Even video can play a role in recording our history.
Every now and then, however, people record audio interviews with others about their life story. This provides a fantastic look back, not only about the person being interviewed, but what life was like for them growing up and on into their adult life.

During the 1960’s Ray Fewson would carry his tape recorder with him wherever he went and record his friends and neighbours. His son, Greg, later had these audio tapes converted to digital recordings to save for future generations to listen to.
